Here is how to make your own boat canvas repairs:

1. Clean the torn or split area of the canvas.
2. Apply BKZW directly on the canvas where you are making the repair.
3. Pull your thread through BKZW 4-6 times
4. Mesh an frayed ends into each other for a tear off seam
5. On seam remove any loose thread
6. Thread your needle with the thread you waxed with BKZW
7. Coat your needle with Bee’s Knees Zipper Wax
8. Using the same holes on seam sew the separation closed
9. If you can not use the same holes, no worries the coat of BKZW you gave your canvas  will give the canvas strength!
10. Sew the seam or tear slowly always making sure that you are capturing the frayed ends and use them as a mesh and reinforcement
11. When the repair is complete, lightly rub BKZW on the sight and let the sun hit it or use a heat lamp or hair dryer… (make sure you keep artificial the heat source 10-14″ away from the canvas and never leave it unattended) Once you see the wax dissolve you are done and your repair should last and last and last!
12. REMEMBER… BKZW WILL NOT HARM ANY SURFACE IT TOUCHES… INCLUDING ISINGLASS!!!

So if your zipper is STUCK…

1.  Clean away as much debris as you can on and around your stuck zipper.
2. Glide BKZW up and down the zipper teeth above and below the Stuck zipper housing

What if your zipper is “stuck ” and won’t move!

Well have I got a story for you… 2011  Newport RI. Newport International Boat Show, I was talking with some customers at our Booth and a woman asked, “Can your product get a zipper on my rain jacket unstuck?” I answered, “Absolutely!”, She said, “Good, I have been using this rain jacket like a pullover for over a year!” she said she’d be right back!
