Bee’s Knees Zipper Wax is amazing! Three summers ago, on a day when we were not at the marina, someone boarded our boat. How we knew this was, there is a triangle of canvas with 2 snaps, attached to the entrance canvas near the bottom of the boarding gate, and that triangle was torn from the main canvas!!! I was so upset. I was wondering who I would call to repair this, when I got and idea!

  • I took some black thread, ( I have black canvas and zippers.) and quadrupled it .
  • Before folding I waxed the entire thread. Then at each fold, I waxed it again. After waxing the thread as many times as I folded it.
  • I cleaned the torn seams,  and waxed those seams and the surrounding repair areas for about 3/4 in.
  • I used any frayed thread as part of the repair.
  • Placed the seams together and sewed the triangle back on.

That was 3 seasons ago, and the repair still holds, look great, and is very sturdy! All I do is wax the repair site 2-3 a season and that entire area is water resistant and stronger than before!

This process can be used on:
